How Long Are You Willing To Wait?

It was 1997 when I finished the artwork for, "Dare the Dream Ambrosia". I was so excited to introduce Ambrosia Nittie and her friends from around the world. I submitted the manuscript to 26 publishing companies. I waited with baited breath for my calls to pour in. One by one, they all responding with resounding NO's. I was devastated. I didn't quite understand. This is what I was destined to do. I had been writing and drawing since I was 6 years old. I published my first major article in the 4th grade. Did they know how much time I spent laboring over the dreams my character would explore? They had no idea the amount of research I put into making sure I understood the consistency of clouds or the exact location of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. They must not know who I am - I thought proudly to myself. I will publish it myself.

I printed 1000 copies of my book and I went for it. I threw myself into the world of self publishing full speed ahead. This was my shot to, "show them". I was going to be on the New York Times best seller and they were going to learn about me.

Well...that didn't happen - then - but I never gave up. I made a decision that, "if it is to be, it's up to me". While I had to shelve my dreams for a season, the taste of my very own YES lingered in my minds palate. I was determined not to wait for anyone to tell me YES but to go get it myself. I wasn't willing to wait any longer.

How long are YOU willing to wait?

Is there anything that you are waiting for the "right" moment to get started?

It's time to say YES to you!!
